Seoul: Cherry blossoms

April 13, 2016 by rachelsanghee

A super short, sweet photo montage of cherry blossoms in Korea. Because, you know, it’s a thing, apparently.blossom1

Cherry blossoms have been around for a long time, but I don’t think they have gotten this much hype ever. They’re everywhere, tv shows, advertisements, instagram, twitter, news outlets (because spring + cherry blossoms are so newsworthy?), travel websites and Facebook. Just everywhere. These photos aren’t from Seoul, although you can get a glimpse of them almost everywhere in Korea. The photos are also from a few years back when I was a baby reporter at The Korea Times (2008!) and was covering the cherry blossom festival for the paper. So the person you see in pink (yes, I tried to color coordinate.) is me.

For more info, visit the Korea tourism website or the festival website. I’m afraid it’s over now, but there’s always next year, right?
