Secondhand shopping, another boozy event and an interesting new pastry shop.
Das Gerber Basar
Flea markets galore in Stuttgart at the moment. The top floor of Das Gerber welcomes secondhand shopping lovers with various stands ranging from clothes, children clothes, toys, books, furniture, you name it. If you are interested in getting a stand to sell yourself, you can also easily do that too. All you have to do is send an email to aktion@das-gerber.de.
The market is open Nov. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more info, visit here.
VinoKilo
This events seems so good and interesting. VinoKilo is a social enterprise that sells secondhand everything by the kilo. Brilliant. It runs Germany’s biggest pop-up event for secondhand clothes.
The clothes are handpicked, curated, cleaned, repaired and sold at pop up events. (You can also purchase them on the website but not by the kilo. For more info on this, visit here.) At this event, the clothes will be sold 40 euros per kilo.
The event will be running Nov. 16 to 17 at Stuttpark. For more info on ViloKilo, visit here and for the Stuttgart event, visit here.
Gin + Tonic Festival
We’ve done the Weindorf, wrapped up Oktoberfest and now it’s time for some gin. The annual Gin + Tonic Festival will be held from Nov. 22-23 at the Winter Garden, Im Wisemann.
There will be music, art, events, performances and, of course, a lot of gin. Not only can you taste some of the best and exclusive selections of gin, but also matching tonics, various garnishes and also learn how to make, serve and enjoy from the pros.

Pâtissier
If there’s one thing that Stuttgart really doesn’t have much, it’s cafes or restaurants that serve for the Muslim or Jewish community. At least, this is what I’ve heard from friends. (If you know anywhere who caters to Muslims and Jewish, let me know in the comments below or shoot me an email. Would love to know!) But that’s about to change.

Aleks Zavacki from Pâtissier is serving pastries and bread that are both kosher and halal, not to mention vegan and gluten-free macarons. (Vegan and gluten-free places are quite easier to find.) In addition he doesn’t use any preservatives nor food coloring, so if you see something red, it’s most likely from red veggies or fruits such as beets.
I’ve tried my fair share of gluten-free and vegan desserts and while I didn’t enjoy them, chocolate was one thing that seems hard to duplicate. But I’m excited to try this place, something new.
Pâtissier is located at Kornberstrasse 17, Stuttgart. They don’t seem to have a website just yet, but it’s open only Monday (12- 5 p.m.), Fridays and Saturdays (12-6 p.m.) and Sundays (12-5 p.m.) Call 0711 12273637 for more info.

Didn’t know about the market at the Gerber. Will definitely visit.
Yay. I’m curious too, but probably will be too busy packing for Seoul….
